User talk:Nantucket Studio
From WWR
Hi again, Nantucket Studios. There are several etiquette things you should know about WWR. The most important thing is it is considered extremely bad etiquette to request your own tunes more than extremely occasionally, and extremely bad taste to rate your own tunes, and even worse to give them all five stars. It is considered "Blowing your own horn", as in bragging at it's worst, and is one of the very best ways to ensure that WWR listeners never request your music. Rating your tunes all 5 stars artificially skews your ratings in your favor, and you'll find that savvy WWR listeners will be cognizant of that and rate your tunes 1 or 2 stars to offset that artificiality regardless of what they think are the merits of the tunes. Songs that garner a preponderance of 1 star ratings eventually get pulled from the library, so you can see how this can work against you. Unfortunately you have already rated all your songs 5 stars, and once rated you can't remove it, you can only change it. Welcome
Hello and welcome to Whole Wheat Radio Nantucket Studio!
This is your Talk page where other users leave you messages. You also have a User page to use as you please. Click the User page tab above to see your user page. Most people write something about themselves so other people have an idea who you are.
Do not be afraid!
Using a wiki (community run website) can be intimidating until you get used to it. Please remember that we all started with similar fears - but the water is fine after the initial shock. If you make a "mistake", don't worry. Someone will fix it. If you make a lot of mistakes, someone will try to help you. We're all in this little boat together and we all want to see it succeed. Welcome aboard!
Some helpful pages are:
- Our mission - This site is about independent music and a fun collaborative community.
- Rules & Privacy - The basic common sense rules you should be aware of.
- Me - Fill in your location and other fun information so your neighbors can get to know you.
- Request a music show - Pick anything that looks good to you. You can build your own shows too.
- Getting Started
- Many help and how-to articles - Also has links to other wiki sites and their tutorials
If you have questions please ask Mr. Monkey. He'll be happy to tell you everything he knows. Don't worry about messing up - it's better to Be Bold than to be afraid on a wiki site. We've gotcha covered.
Once again, welcome! And when you're tired of seeing this message on your talk page, just erase the line that says {{welcome}} and it will disappear.
Hi Nantucket Studios! I see you've already jumped right in and have done some editing and requesting. That's what Whole Wheat Radio is all about, participation. This site is completely created on a daily basis by the listeners, and sometimes,if we are lucky, the Artists too. We enjoy nothing more around here than to see The Artists getting involved in building their own pages, and the pages of their compatriots, if they feel so inclined. We also enjoy interacting with Artists who visit, so come on by Live Collaboration and Support and say hello. You'll find the link on the left, on any WWR page.
