Hi Fred!

I like your additions to the Chat behavior page, especially the reminder about communication. Somewhere in my scraps of notes about this and that, I have some statistics I learned in technical support training about the percentage of communication received by the different senses. I may add it when I come across it again.

Anyhow, thanks and welcome! Sparkit 06:17, 26 March 2006 (AKST)

Great Page

Wow. This is a great page you've put together, Fred. I love the WWR history. --Toad 19:27, 29 March 2006 (AKST)

Wonderful Fred!

I agree wholeheartedly with the positive comments above. I really like your addition to the chat behaviour page too - it's beyond my wildest dreams that well spoken and intelligent listeners like you can now say what needs to be said. Thank you. It's such a pleasure to read someone else's words say so concisely what people need to keep in mind about chat. Very very well done.

And your history brought back fond memories of when you first stumbled onto WWR. Gosh, when I think of it, some of the major events that have since transpired in both our lives (your heart attack, your loved ones keeping us all informed, your subsequent return and changes in lifestyle) make me realize that we're all like an extended family in some ways. When you and I first met and we excitedly called this personal webcasting thing 'the new public radio', I had no idea that it would eventually develop into something so personal to so many people - including me.

Thanks for being a stalwart, quiet, loyal and stabilizing force through it all. Keep hangin' on ... the ride ain't over yet...

Dear, Dear Fred!

How good to hear you reminisce and bring the history of WWR and your life into focus, Fred. What a wonderful trip it has been! …and I’m so glad you where on the ticket when I first jumped on board. You made me feel so welcome and comfortable. I will never forget that. Thanks for all the good times, friend. Fine-line

Enjoyed your page

Hi Fred. Last time I saw your page, it had about 1 paragraph on it. I really enjoyed reading the new additions and the photos are great. I've always enjoyed having you around, and I certainly understand what you mean about listening and lurking in order to get things done. Between this site and J-Walk's Blog, it's a wonder I ever get any work done. See you around the chat. -- Sol 12:14, May 2, 2006 (AKDT)

Hat's off to you, Fred!

I see you lurking today and I came to your page to leave you a message just to say hi! For some reason I am just now seeing your wonderful user page in its present form. It is so good of you to include the WWR history. Thanks for doing that! Of course, you were there when I first came to chat in the Pre-Wiki days and were always so kind to everyone. I think all of those people you named were still around when i finally quit being just a listener and actually logged on to become a part of all this.

I admire your successful efforts to just listen without getting sucked into chat. Now, that is willpower! - LuAnna 06:49, October 21, 2007 (AKDT)
