March 28th 2007- I posted photos and a little creative commentary about the Home on the Grange Concert, that featured Esther Golton and Danny Schmidt here at my Onthebus Photo Gallery. I recorded the concert and will work on making it available on WWR at some point.

Esther and JimBob gave me a tutorial on the basic controls of running Wholewheat Radio while I visited in September.I've had fun getting on the mic.One late night after visiting the Fairview Inn, I broke Wholewheat Radio just like JimBob and Esther have! I've found out it's really true...any moron can run this place!

Yes I'm the one who almost fried my cat Rosie in the dryer. Two days into listening to WWR I was so anxious to listen to the rant that my multi-tasking resulted in a loud thump thump. Wrote Jim and Esther, and Rosie the cat became an overnight internet star when they included her in the rant. [1]

It's been love and wheat ever since... Yes, Rosie is okay but Jack the Cat may be next........

Alaska
Seems a lot of listeners on WWR are either from Alaska or found WWR when searching or yearning for Alaska. I did not. I found it another way. See: Discovering WWR However I have been to Alaska once in 1992. I spent one month exploring and having numerous adventures that really should be in a book if I ever write one. It was the first time that I was away from my daughter who was 5 at the time. As I was a single mom since the beginning of time, my best pal Leslie who had moved down to Ellamar advised me that it was about time I take a break from my daughter. Since I nearly always take Leslie's advice I did it, but it was one of the hardest things I ever did, leaving my daughter crying with grandma while I headed out for an adventure. Ohh... the guilt! But ooh the adventure!
I spent one month traveling around from Anchorage down to Homer and back and then up to Denali Park and then over to the Talkeetna Bluegrass Festival and then down to Valdez and over to Ellamar. Along the way, I met a crazy woman running from an ex husband who decided to leave things in her will to me if her ex finally did her in ( thank god I have never inherited anything as of this date 2006 so I know she is alive), almost watched a kid drown right before my very eyes at the Talkeetna Bluegrass Fest (if it wasn't for the guy who suddenly came out of the woods and plowed into me and dived into the river the kid would be dead), woke up to find gray snowlike matter all over the ground while visiting my friends out in the bush only to realize that Mt. Spurr had gone off and we were in the thick of it, had a shotgun go off and plug a big hole in the roof of the 8 x 10 cabin I was in, and ohhh... almost didn't make it back to my dear daughter as the plane I was in dived and rolled thru the thunder and lightening storm as we neared Chicago.
Okay, that's an outline of the highlights! There are more details…but alas another time! Fun, adventure and yes good advice from Leslie! It was a nice break!
