I am the voice you'll often hear on the microphone at Whole Wheat Radio (WWR). I live at the Wheat Palace on Birch Creek Blvd. in Alaska and guess you could say "run" WWR. I don't like to think of it in those terms since I'd prefer to think that you and hundreds of other people like us all contribute together to run WWR.

Very disappointed in my Heat Wave wood stove fan. It started having a harder time turning (it's supposed to become more broken in over time but mine seemed to be getting less so) so I tried some small adjustments. Then I tried light oil (that came with the machine). Then I read the instructions which said "Don't adjust and don't oil points A or B". Which, of course, I had. So it's somewhat my fault but a unit like this is being sold to people who already are obviously independent and probably mechanical ... and the mechanism is purely mechanical and easily understandable. So they should include adjustment procedures. Instead, they say "Return to the factory". Yeah. Right.

In addition, the plastic tube that holds a piston and is attached to metal that gets 600 degrees and hotter came unattached. The original "glue" is not strong stuff. So I'm trying to glue it back with some wood stove gasket glue. After that, I've cleaned it all and adjusted and I'm pretty sure it will run. But not like I want it to.

Just kind of a bummer. I'll probably try the Ecofan Plus because it's less mechanical. Still, I wish when they sold a product like this, they'd include complete instructions on how to adjust etc. rather than expecting a self-reliant person to ship it back to have them turn a few screws.
