Update on May 18th, 2007
Hi all -
I just popped on the air to break the ice and say Hello while in Talkeetna. I'm not quite finished with my CD project, and will be heading back up to Fairbanks a few days from now to keep working on it. I wanted to let you all know that I do plan to be around for the latter half of Wheatstalk. I want to participate in this year's Alaska Midnight Sun Songcamp, which runs till Tuesday, the 19th, and then I plan to head back up to Talkeetna and join you all for some laid-back very-unplanned gathering-ness. I suspect I'll see some bodies during Songcamp (www.songcamp.com), too, coming down for the concerts at Vagabond Blues?? I look forward to Whatever Happens... I also have been contemplating (and discussing with Jim) smaller, measured ways I might be involved in WWR in the future. In the meantime, I hope you are all doing well and truly savoring life!

Dear Whole Wheat Radio folks -
As some of you may have noticed, I haven't been around Whole Wheat Radio lately. I want to apologize from the bottom of my heart for my abrupt withdrawal from this landscape to which I was somewhat integral. It's not how I normally operate, and I think my discomfort about it all has kept me in an avoidence cycle for quite a while. I guess in my bumbling through life, sometimes I color outside the lines, and for those who feel hurt by my sloppy, unplanned actions, I am truly sorry.
I am much gladdened that Jim, the music, and all of you are carrying on just fine without me. As I start to veer back into my life as a performing musician, I have even more appreciation for what WWR is all about. With my own music, I am moving one step at a time... which means I've been in Fairbanks for a few weeks immersed in a recording project. I have my fingers crossed for good results, and I'm putting my all into it.
With this renewed focus on my own music has come some clarity: I have realized that I need to officially uninvolve myself with WWR for now. I wanted to let you all know that I'm still a silent enthusiast even if I don't participate. I encourage you all to keep listening, contributing to the wiki, exploring/ranking/tagging new songs, buying artists' CDs, and sharing discussions, photos, and links with each other. I'm still thrilled and amazed at the passionate support you all have shown as well the quality of the independent music that gets discovered.
Most importantly, thank you Whole Wheat Radio for being such a special, enriching part of my life for the last 4 1/2 years. I really really mean that!
