From WWR
Waterlogged Electronics
Yes, it's possible to revive digi-cameras from the wash cycle and cell phones from swimming in ponds. The 2 key factors determining success are : how bad was the water contaminantation, & how well you do the revival process.
ASAP after the undesirable event, remove batteries and disassemble the device into parts, down to the circuit boards is preferred, but avoid disconnecting any cables or wires. Clean & dry as follows.
Cleaning : if the dunking was in unpure water, go get a bunch of distilled water (not mineral water, not bottled water, not drinking water). Distilled is as close to de-ionized (DI) as you can generally get, but if you know a chem lab professor or drug store person, go for the DI. Pour water into clean container. Submerse and vigorously mix, swish, agitate all the device parts. Discard water on favorite flowers. Get as much water/moisture out of the device as you can, like by using compressed air. Don't use your breath, it's contaminated. Pay special attention to any mechanical components, like switches or relays, they are the weakest link in this revival process. Shake vigorously in air if no compressor is available. Repeat several times : 3-4 for wash machine dunking, 5-10 for pond dunking or wash machines with fabric softener added.
Drying : dry heat with air movement is the key. Hair dryer, sidewalk in Missouri in July with a fan blowing, etc. You get the idea. You gotta get it REAL dry. Let it sit a couple days if you're unsure.
Re-install batteries, hold your breath, turn it on.

Hello to all !!!
Howdy. WWR has made quite some changes in my daily life.
Can't remember how I happened onto the WWR listen.pls : JWalk referencing WWR, or some obscure link to WWR in some e-zine somewhere, or some obscure link in some e-zine referencing JWalk referencing WWR, etc....
I'm on the PC 14-18 hours a day, developing hardware or software, mostly embedded microcontroller systems, but recently R&D into speech recognition.
WWR provides background soothe, an excellent contrast to my busy office day. Except for the rant, which most days has to be turned down or headphoned out of respect for co-workers. Upon the dozen'th or so hearing of certain tunes in the background, my subconscious makes me sit up & pay attention, actively listening, requesting replay, and usually resulting in a sale. Witness the Carter/Grammer stats in [Details, http://www.wholewheatradio.org/wiki/index.php?title=User:ElmasnoJ/Details]
Spouse & I are planning on visiting AK in June, and a stop in Talkeetna is high on my list. She wants to tidepool @ Homer (we don't get many tides in MO), and of course we both want to fly into Denali.
