Just an update on the e-mail I sent requesting information on next year's conference. I just received an e-mail back from Louis Jay Meyers, the Executive Director of Folk Alliance. Atuuschaaw (talk) 18:21, March 5, 2008 (AKST)

Hi Randy,

Sorry for the delay. I am still recovering from our conference and I leave for SXSW this Sunday.

I would love to work with you, but I need to wait a couple of weeks to get into this.

Can you please contact me after March 20 and we can see what we can make happen.

I look forward to the opportunity.

Thanks and all the best,

Louis

Next Folk Alliance Conference:

February 18-21, 2009

Update: Louis Meyers

I spoke with the Executive Director of Folk Alliance this morning and although next year's pricing hasn't been formulated yet, he assured me he would work with WWR and make it affordable and allow us to come in as an Organizational Membership. But he also offered Jim a free room to stream WWR during the entire conference. We would have to provide the ISDN line and equipment, but the space is absolutely free and he mentioned that Jim and whoever was needed to do setup and maintain/operate would be allowed an even bigger discount than what the Organizational Membership offers. The new prices are at least a month away, so when I hear more I'll post it right here! Now we need everybody to beg, plead, or blackmail Jim to come to Memphis next year! ::hehe Atuuschaaw (talk) 14:06, March 28, 2008 (AKDT)

Who is Louis Meyers?

Louis Meyers plays banjo in a Memphis group called The Tennessee Bolt Smokers.

Memphis Songwriters Association and Louis Meyers

These two videos are from 2007 and feature my old buddy Phillip Beasley and some of the other members of the Memphis Songwriters Association. Louis Meyers of Folk Alliance can be seen on the first video. They were taped at the Juke 'N Jamm studios. Louis talks about why the Folk Alliance moved to the Memphis area and he also discusses the purpose, focus, and scope of the Folk Alliance.
