Trivia, story behind the song, etc.
Stephen Bennett
On a street corner near where I live there used to stand a beautiful old maple tree. It was a true presence noticed and admired by many. One day a few years ago, as I drove by I noticed that it was gone. Going up on the newly cleared lot was a drugstore, one of the ever-expanding national chain. I guess what bothered me most was that the building didn't even go where the tree used to stand. Rather, it was cut to make way for a parking lot. I recognize the hypocrisy of playing this memorial tune for a tree on an instrument itself made of wood, but still...
Solo with capo on top 5 strings at 2nd fret.
