Trivia, story behind the song, etc.
December 31, 2000 my young son Scott came and asked me why his mom was laying on the floor. I ran upstairs and called 911. We spent that night watching the New Year fireworks from the top of the hospital. She had a brain aneurysm and we tried to hold on to her, but on January 10th, 2001 we let her go.
The kids were amazing. Everyone pulled together to be there. John and Colleen were both older and had moved out of the house, but Scott was only 7. He was a real trooper, and has remained so. He still has many good memories to share about her, and talks about the things he used to do with her.
He actually did tell me about how he dreamed that she was giving him a hug one night. It still breaks my heart when he says "I miss my mom."
Whenever he hears this song, he breaks out in tears. But he still likes to hear it because it reminds him of his mom.
I still miss her too. [1]
Lyrics
I think you should know I still miss you
I think you should know I still cry
I'm just sitting here thinking about you
I still got that tear in my eye
So many feelings I have inside
So many days I just sat and cried
I think you should know we still love you
I guess it goes to show you can never tell
Scotty still asks about his mother
He didn't get to know you very well
He still has dreams about your hugs
I tell him that you're sending them from above
I think you should know I still remember
Every little kiss we ever shared
Everywhere I look I am surrounded
By little things you did to show you cared
