Whole Wheat Radio originates from the basement in the Shite Hole.

The Shite Hole is essentially the nerve center for WWR. It's a 3' x 3' plywood cabin with a basement that is accessible only by using a ladder, or just closing your eyes and jumping. The WWR computers and broadcasting studio are located in the basement. The Shite Hole has such creature comforts as electricity, DSL lines, a wood-burning stove, a coffee pot, a refrigerator, a bed, and even a microwave oven. Although it lacks running water, it does have toilet facilities. Actually, it is a toilet facility.

The Shite Hole is also the venue for WWR House Concerts. On concert days, folding chairs are set up, and Jimbob mans the sound engineering from the basement.

In early 2006, Esther and Jim began to make plans for a Wheat Palace. As of April the papers are signed on a former watering hole near Talkeetna.

History

The Shite Hole was built by Esther Golton. She has sinced moved it once or twice. Jim Kloss has done most of the interior decoration.
