Show Ideas

Things I'd like to be able to do with shows: Kelli (talk) 18:16, March 31, 2008 (AKDT)

  • requests songs I haven't ranked by artists I've tagged with "hear more"
  • shows of songs with no tags

JIM ADDED:

  • songs by artist state (or any tag on artist or album page)
  • songs by RECOMMENDED FOR xyz
  • songs that are GOING TO BE REMOVED IN X DAYS IF NO RANKINGS or for low rankings etc.

Show Parameters

It would be very helpful to know the possible show parameters. Kelli (talk) 12:34, April 2, 2008 (AKDT)

Myspace Search Feature

We have found that the onboard search feature on the artist pages isn't that reliable and have had better luck using Google and adding a myspace tag along with the artist name! Not sure if the parameters need changing or why it's not giving good results. It does okay with some, but probably only 60% accurate for me. Atuuschaaw (talk) 21:46, April 3, 2008 (AKDT)

Reviews

Be good to consider a "REVIEWS" section for Albums. Links only probably cuz otherwise get into copyright issues. Would be very helpful to have when considering purchasing an album. Jimbob (talk) 06:12, April 14, 2008 (AKDT)

Recommend

Template:Recommend needs to notify user or be included on user page of recommended stuff and also explain to remove once user has looked at it. Jimbob (talk) 07:04, April 15, 2008 (AKDT)

Paypal Donation

Immediate update of monthly donations on Paypal interface the same way house concert donations work. Jimbob (talk) 15:29, April 16, 2008 (AKDT)

Audmag sort

Separate the house concert audmags from the 11AM ones. Maybe even different pages. I.e. Separate good content from garbage. Jimbob (talk) 00:31, April 18, 2008 (AKDT)

song ratings

I've rated over 1000 songs. Wish I knew how many were 5,4,3,2,1 stars! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Scobey (talkcontribs) Please sign comments with four tildes ~~~~ 20081012120923

Is a form possible?

This may not be at all feasible but it occurred to me this morning. I have a lot of local music and I understand that music needs to be submitted by artists not fans. At work we process electronic course reserves and the faculty needs to submit information on their class to us on a form that includes a statement regarding copyright etc. They then list out to us what they want or walk it in for us to set up. In the case of WWR, I wonder if something couldn’t be set up where an artist could submit work by first submitting the on-line form which would include a step-by-step set up of their artist page with a statistic incentive to bookmark and improve their page – even contacting fans to help them with their pages, possibly. Like I said, I don’t know if this is possible but it would sure help me in approaching bands if I could give them a direct link to a form to fill out prior to sending their work in. What's Playing

Can "What's Playing" be added as a menu item at the bottom of each page next to "Main Page" and "About WWR"? Scobey (talk) 18:18, June 5, 2008 (AKDT)

Shows

May not be worth the trouble, but I can see use in combining And/Or options. For example, (berry or berries) and food. Kelli (talk/contribs) 06:05, July 12, 2008 (AKDT)

Last Played vs. Never Played in Shows

It would be good to allow "never played" songs to appear in any shows with a "last played" parameter. For example, artist page shows specified a last played of "1 week ago" so there were no options for new artists. Kelli (talk/contribs) 12:32, July 30, 2008 (AKDT)

Song Length

Allow for a max song length parameter in shows. Kelli (talk/contribs) 13:34, August 4, 2008 (AKDT)

Disconnected Intro

(moving this to a more appropriate place. Kelli (talk/contribs) 08:56, September 14, 2008 (AKDT))

I just heard a very moving introduction for a song by Randall Williams

   * Song: Talk 3 (1:59)
   * Artist: Randall Williams
   * Album: One Night In Louisiana

I was disappointed not to hear the song. There are other disconnected intros in the library. I think it is ok to hear the song without the intro but not the intro without the song. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Firewalk (talkcontribs) Please sign comments with four tildes ~~~~

I'm not sure if this needs to be discussed since it is something only Jim can do. Attaching the intro to the song would mean we'd always hear the intro and some people probably wouldn't like that. Also, there is no way to find all the intros and their corresponding songs so it would rely on users to mark each one when they hear it. (The artist saved the intros as separate tracks on the CD.) And of course listeners can buy the CD when it is desirable to hear the songs in order. It may be possible but I don't imagine it is a simple thing to do.
