| 10:35 pm | Ruben (talk/contribs) | George Carlin's passing is certainly something that will hang over my head this week. I have his 366 daily tear calendar on my desk, several DVDs of stand up performanes, books... shame I never got to meet him. | ||
| 4:43 pm | Jim (talk/contribs) | Yup. That works. And

| 3:05 pm | Cub Driver | Things are going 150 mph at the office today . Pardon me if I buzz through WWR without signaling any turns. | ||
| 1:59 pm | Scobey (talk/contribs) | Very sad to hear that the Zippy Dippy Weatherman is now forecasting at the Pearly Gates!! | ||
| 12:09 pm | Hoonah (talk/contribs) | He and Sam Kinison were my favs and would have us rolling in the dorms at all hours. Thanks to the digital age they are still with us. | ||
| 12:07 pm | Atuuschaaw (talk/contribs) | Yep, regardless what he thought of that slogan on that T-shirt...he definitely led the way; wasn't content to follow; and he damn sure wasn't about to get out of the way! | ||
| 12:06 pm | Jim (talk/contribs) | Thanks ya'll. Back to the music... | ||
| 12:03 pm | Jim (talk/contribs) | Part of why I respect what George did was because he was, for my generation, the first. Lenny Bruce was something else and not for the general public (too New York IMO). George was "of the people" - and he called it the way he saw it. He floundered around for 10 years doing mainstream stuff and then found himself. And he found all of us too. He'd be a dime-a-dozen on the internet today (all the ranters out there) but it's pointless thinking about what he would have done. To me, what's important is what he did do. And he was the first. | ||
| 11:56 am | Atuuschaaw (talk/contribs) | |||
| 11:52 am | Atuuschaaw (talk/contribs) | Jim, I was just thinking that you and George could have come from the same mold. | ||
| 11:50 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | Loving the George Carlin. I hope he's standing at the Pearly Gates, complaining. | ||
| 11:49 am | Jim (talk/contribs) | 1,001 Jimbob rants condensed into an 8 minute track. Now that's the way it's done. | ||
| 11:31 am | countrydave (talk/contribs) | Enjoying the Carlin Jim. | ||
| 11:07 am | Hoonah (talk/contribs) | |||
| 11:07 am | Hoonah (talk/contribs) | I had the pleasure of seeing him many years ago when I was in college. Quite the performer ::thumbsup | ||
| 11:06 am | Jim (talk/contribs) | "Their stuff is shit and your shit is stuff...." | ||
| 11:05 am | Bleau (talk/contribs) | Nice tribute to George. He still makes me laugh. Thank you | ||
| 11:05 am | Jim (talk/contribs) | "A house is just a place with a pile of stuff in it..." .... this entire routine is so true, so much the "root of the problem" of consumerism - and he makes it hillarious and tragic all at the same time. | ||
| 11:04 am | Atuuschaaw (talk/contribs) | Jim! | ||
| 11:02 am | E.D. Egg (talk/contribs) | Kudos to KyndBears for an inspired set . . . | ||
| 11:01 am | Jim (talk/contribs) | If you want actual track titles, as always, go directly to the Shoutcast source | ||
| 10:59 am | Jim (talk/contribs) | I just saw the news that George Carlin has moved on. That one hurts. To me, he was a brilliant writer and performer. When I couldn't find the words to say it, he usually did. I will play Carlin for the 11AM hour in tribute. | ||
| 6:55 am | ReWoven (talk/contribs) | Good Morning, dear ones | ||
| 5:51 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | Hey, Atu! Yes, too bad about George, too young. Beth, no significance, NC. | ||
| 5:46 am | Atuuschaaw (talk/contribs) | |||
| 5:46 am | Atuuschaaw (talk/contribs) | "Scratch any cynic," he said, "and you'll find a disappointed idealist." George Carlin (May 12, 1937 – June 22, 2008) | ||
| 5:08 am | E.D. Egg (talk/contribs) | Mert: Any significance to North Carolina? | ||
| 4:57 am | E.D. Egg (talk/contribs) | this song (Roll With Me / Wandering Through Walls / Sally Morgan) doesn't actually have an organ on it, does it? | ||
| 4:20 am | E.D. Egg (talk/contribs) | Why is the text on the banjo tag in red? | ||
| 4:17 am | E.D. Egg (talk/contribs) | I find it strangely satisfying to remove an errant tag when two are in contradiction. I'm sure that says something of deep psychological relevance about me . . . | ||
| 4:14 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | Hey, Beth! No problem; I just have to get breakfast soon. | ||
| 4:10 am | E.D. Egg (talk/contribs) | Hey Mert (and anyone else who is up). I'll see if I can catch the instrumentalist/vocalist (but I'm making/receiving calls for references, so music muted when I'm on the phone). | ||
| 4:07 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | Hey, Ruben! Morning here, but good evening to you. I've recycled all my old computers. How long will you keep yours? Forever? | ||
| 4:04 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | Coming up is the "Solo vocalist and Instrumental" show. One of the tags on each song is incorrect and needs to be removed. I'll try to catch them, but maybe someone can be back-up. | ||
| 3:51 am | Ruben (talk/contribs) | G'day everyone! I've had a very productive day getting my Commodore Plus/4 working again for an assignment. Someone dared me to use one of my vintage computers instead of a laptop with PowerPoint. I took them up on it | ||
| 3:28 am | Mert (talk/contribs) | Good morning, Wheatsters. Alas, it's Monday and not Sunday. | ||
| 12:29 am | Jim (talk/contribs) | Good morning and good night! See you today and tomorrow! |
