Here ya go Peterdale ! Sit down and rest for a spell.. it will be something else tomorrow that will take your mind of of things today !
I am sorry Jim. I guess I need to wait till I have more time to read carefully. I certainly didn't mean to step on any toes this morning. I will be more careful in the future.
I had a super day taking kids to sing at an assisted living home for seniors. The kids were so great. They had so much fun performing.

Hello Wheathead friends. Nasty pain in wallet just now. Been digging a new fenceline, and dug right through the telephone cable when digging a hole for a strainer post. Now feeling faint from size of the bill. Will need to sit down and listen to music for a while to recover!!!Peterdale (talk)
Getting back to left-necks though, America's media caste is put off by the way these folks look and sound -- and their unpredictable opinions -- which do not conform to standard ideology or political cortrectness. I say give them a voice, even if it happens to make you wince, due to your own social and political conditioning. Let a working man speak. Tough, free thinking carpenters and truck drivers -- give'em the mic. Let'em talk. They know how to speak to their own people, and can show us all a thing or two about how this country really works.

- Brother Atuu, what a great read! It got me thinking about a lot of things -- like why my oldest son might really be so angry, why I've always felt like a blue-collar soul in a white collar suit, why I despise the mainstream media on so many levels, why I feel like a political orphan, why I inwardly choke on political correctness, but outwardly practice it like religion . . . Thanks for sharing! Kimchifox (talk) 19:00, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
Love hearing Jim's "Eureka!" moments. Also, hearing those "it should ..."s and "it shouldn't ..."s. One of my favorite "words to live by" phrases: I promise I won't should on myself today. —12-stringer (talk) 11:57, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
- Be happy you have control over your "Shoulds".
Scobey (talk) 12:15, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
- I think I should all over myself yesterday. Things are all better today though. -- Sol® (talk) 12:39, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
hey it's like magic.. I am there. it went from showing 28 to showing 42 in one refresh. wow. Jim is having fun! i am so envious. really. LuAnna (talk) 11:35, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
one thing that is "really weird" is that I show up as logged in and I am not in the listener list. that's unusual.. but it tells me who I am at the bottom of the page and what my IP is and all that. oh what fun Jim is having today. I am just shampooing carpets and doing other boring chores. LuAnna (talk) 11:33, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
It must be the old 6943 effect Bro!

Jim's in Programmer-head again! Fun! -- Sol® (talk)
A Midsummer Concert of Folk All-Stars - 7PM Tuesday in Anchorage. With Ben Winship and Thomas Sneed and a handful of locals. I wonder who the locals are???? Scobey (talk) 10:48, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
Thanks for 3 Meg Hutchinson songs in a row!!!!! Scobey (talk) 10:46, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
- I saw Meg last night with Natalia Zuckerman. WWR is in for a treat next month. -- Sol® (talk) 11:08, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
Since we're talking birds, I experienced two firsts last night while walking along the D&R Canal: my first bald eagle sighting in New Jersey and my first ever sighting of a very orange Baltimore Oriole (excluding those I saw at Yankee Stadium a few years ago). A fellow walker told me that the eagle's aerie is located nearby on the David Sarnoff Research Center property. I'm paying a visit tonight! Kimchifox (talk) 09:12, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
Egg hatching. Mert. I was trying to give you a more thorough explanation, but the sirens were going off While I am usually not one to take shelter, the inner voice was saying "get to to the basement" then it said, "take water" and "get the cell phone" ... "and the laptop"..."and a flashlight"... and then I got down there and the sirens stopped. Anyway, those eggs will each hatch on their own schedule... and the birds will probably all fledge on different days. Ducks are different... the mom waits for them all to be ready to leave the nest and then she takes them to the water. They are all great fun to watch. LuAnna (talk) 06:36, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
- Great, Lu. Thanks! I hereby, unofficially, appoint you and ReWo WWR resident birdologists. — Mert (talk) 06:55, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
Good morning! My time here is limited today, but I am going to enjoy my morning coffee while listening and perusing the WWR site to see what you all are up to. I haven't been out yet to survey the damage from last night's storm, but one thing for sure: it's probably still too wet to mow!I hope you all are well and looking at a bright day wherever you are. Thanks for all this good music! LuAnna (talk) 05:24, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
Good morning Lu! Good to see you and I certainly hope you are enjoying your summer!
Atuuschaaw (talk) 05:32, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
Sounds tasty Mert! But I'm thinking this drink might be more entertaining.
Atuuschaaw (talk) 05:08, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
- Atu, I had one of those years ago Derby-time. It wasn't that great, and I used to like whiskey. (Ginger is a stimulant, helps with digestion.)— Mert (talk) 05:12, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
- Well no wonder you didn't like it Mert! It's supposed to be made with some of that good old Kentucky Bourbon!
Atuuschaaw (talk) 05:15, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
- You got me there. Whiskey, bourbon ... I probably wouldn't be able to distinguish them in a taste test. Tequila would be a different story.
— Mert (talk) 05:21, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
- To be honest Martha...I couldn't tell the difference myself! Not a big drinker.

Atuski! I just ran across this recipe and thought y'all might like it.
Honey Ginger Lemonade
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup peeled fresh ginger slices
7 sprigs fresh mint
2 cups purified water
4 cups ice cubes
1. Put the juice, honey, ginger, and 1 chopped sprig of the mint in a large pitcher and stir, pressing the mint and ginger to release flavor.
2. Add the water and stir until the honey dissolves, then add the ice.
3. Pour into six 10-ounce glasses and garnish each glass with a sprig of mint and a fancy straw.

Good morning boys, girls, and all four legged Wheatsters! Atuuschaaw (talk) 04:51, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
Hi, kids! Happy Friday. Saw Across the Universe again last night. Between the Beatles music and the cinematography, absolutely mesmerizing and a must-see, particularly for Boomers. A trip down Memory Lane. — Mert (talk) 04:42, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
Mornin' folks. a) we east coast types need to wait for Jim to ask the question today -- he said he'd do it, so he knows; and b) I tried to remove the double version of the currently playing song and appear to have failed, so I'll leave that to someone else. I need to get my own work done today so I won't be around much, alas. E.D. Egg (talk) 03:29, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
- Good Morning E.D. - I found the problem with duplication of the currently playing. The "currently playing-mini" template was on both the open Mic Header template and on this page... Not sure which place it should be but I removed from this page and left it as part of the Open Mic Header template. Hope everyone has a GREAT day!!!--BlueRidge (talk) 04:17, June 6, 2008 (AKDT)
