What's Playing Page appears to be stuck on Janis Ian. Scobey (talk) 14:41, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)

That Hazel Miller song ("Meet Me With Your Black Drawers On") reminds me of that inevitable, undeniable "proof" that women are smarter than men. While dating, the guy is wondering if he is "going to get lucky" — the gal already knows. Image:Wink.gif 12-stringer (talk) 14:27, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)

Jim - I haven't moved. About a year ago, I got a Sprint Mobile Broadband account so I could listen to WWR at home. The spcdns.net address that I'm assigned, shows up as Indiana or Illinois. Rest assured, you will know if move from this house I've done so much work on over the last 10 years. --JohnA (talk) 11:30, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)

Just in case you're wondering if something is happening on the Who's Listening page, the answer is yes. I've been trying various sources of geographic/IP data and as I test, the locations get messed up. No biggie - it will settle down once I find a reliable source of data. Jim (talk) 10:12, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)

Have you tried maxmind.com? I use it periodically and it seems to be very accurate. I am not sure how much they charge for their different services, but it seems to be accurate. By the way, I really like being able to "see" from where everyone is listening. mojo (talk) 11:48, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)

Bo Diddley died Image:Sad.gif Scobey (talk) 09:35, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)

Oh no! That's so sad. Thanks for letting us know. E.D. Egg (talk) 09:55, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)
Well, he must have had a good full life (died at 79) and left lots of people happy....so...celebrate his life! ReWoven (talk) 11:38, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)

More info here... Jim (talk) 10:19, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)

Ques: What happens to songs that are requested and then it goes into the loop-thing? I requested some songs and they didn't show up in either the coming up or just played list. They also aren't requestable as I guess technically they already have been. Did they go...Image:poof04.gif --Trish (talk) 08:59, June 2, 2008 (AKDT) (talk)

Yeah, I think they just go "poof" in those cases. Kelli (talk) 09:45, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)
And there are no poof-cleaner-uppers. Image:Lol.gif ReWoven (talk) 16:40, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)

Heads up, pickers and newgrass (even psychograss) fans. New favorite album: Scott Nygaard's Dreamer's Waltz. He's on guitar, joined by, among others, Mike Marshall, Tim O'Brien, Jerry Douglas, Todd Phillips, Mark Schatz, Tony Furtado, Dirk Powell, Darroll Anger. — Mert (talk) 07:11, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)

Too bad he couldn't get any real musicians to play with him . . . E.D. Egg (talk) 10:09, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)

Good Morno, dear ones. Just took a picture of the nest. There is one beautiful egg in there! Good that they are so busy because we do have a bird shortage problem, ya know. This from a site about it: "Populations of some of America's most common birds have plummeted over the past forty years, reports a new analysis by the National Audubon Society. Some species have seen a decline of 80 percent." ReWoven (talk) 07:00, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)

Morning, all. I have a question for you. Saturday I open for Rod MacDonald (which means I'll be playing my songs for someone else's audience). Any suggestions about which ones I should play? E.D. Egg (talk) 05:13, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)

Good to hear about your gig. I vote for Canaan and Magnolia, my faves. — Mert (talk) 05:28, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)
Waiting for the WWR delooping, I'm listening to WUMB (good station!). On its home page, there's mention of the Boston Folk Festival Songwriting Contest. You entered? — Mert (talk) 05:38, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)
Not yet, but I will. Last year I entered with Canaan and one other (can't remember which) and didn't make the finals. Alas, the guy who runs the contest doesn't think of me as a serious songwriter, which makes the initial hurdle higher. Glad to hear you like 2nd and Magnolia; that's the song that almost got dumped from the CD at the last minute, since it wasn't coming out the way I wanted. I haven't been playing it lately, but maybe I'll add it back into my standard set. E.D. Egg (talk) 05:45, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)
Curious, that he doesn't consider you a serious songwriter. What's up with that? A day job disqualifies you? — Mert (talk) 06:31, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)
Well, he runs the summer acoustic music camp I go to each year. So he first saw me four years ago when I hadn't been performing or writing for many years and was just starting up again . . . I seem to be stuck in his mind as someone who doesn't do this for real even though more recent evidence would suggest otherwise. Sigh. E.D. Egg (talk) 06:46, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)
Ack, please choose to pay him no mind. He must be the only one on the planet who thinks that. — Mert (talk) 07:07, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)

Looping? — Mert (talk) 03:45, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)

Not looping now, but playlist not advancing. — Mert (talk) 04:24, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)
Oops, still looping. — Mert (talk) 04:47, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)
Yup; Drat. These days there are so few times I can listen to WWR and somehow those times frequently coincide with stream looping. Maybe you all should pay me to stay away . . . E.D. Egg (talk) 05:11, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)
Ha. Or me. — Mert (talk) 05:28, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)
For the record, still looping. — Mert (talk) 07:55, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)

Image:Wavingicon.gif Good morning dear people! Yep, up before the sun every morning...and almost always under the cover just after the sun goes down! Image:Lol.gif Atuuschaaw (talk) 02:51, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)

Good morning, Wheatkids. Smiley and I got a lot done over the weekend, including a truck spring clean and clean-out of the utility closet and my toolbox, an odious job. Onward! The house needs to be cleaned out by July so we can see what repairs and painting need doing before listing it. Smiley's dad is planning a trip down from Indiana to help. ... Hoping everyone has a great week. — Mert (talk) 02:18, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)

Good Morning All Image:Hello.gif Here is another clip from Norma's play . Hope everyone had a great weekend. --BlueRidge (talk) 01:56, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)

BR, your video clips are fun. Thanks for thinking of us. — Mert (talk) 02:38, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)

Good morning, Atu! My but you are up early this morning! Image:Wink.gif Before the sun, i would venture to say. LuAnna (talk) 01:28, June 2, 2008 (AKDT)
