Tovio spent his childhood years in a commune and his adolescence helping to run a new age retreat center with his parents. He co-founded the Fire Fabulon (Detroit) and the Hleb i Sir circus (Srbija) and founded Circus Twerkus. Today, he performs as a clown and vaudeville entertainer in various shows, including Torch with A Twist, Ideas Can Hang, and functions directed by Ralph Hoy.
Tovio is the drummer for The Universe Will Get You Back and Sneaky and the Rat. He plays accordion in The Calliope of the Future and is the guitarist in the Spanish Castles.
He will be biking and street performing in Italy October and November of this year..
