Monkeyshine was the collaborative effort of two high school friends, Tim Foley and Cate Doefer, who'd been singing and playing in each other's living rooms for 20 years or so and decided completely on a whim (perhaps bolstered by the effects of Monkeyshine banana wine, made by Cate's spouse, Brian) to try writing their own songs. The self-entitled CD, Monkeyshine, was home produced by Tim, released in 2005 on their own label "Bad Max Records" (named for Cate's very naughty Jack Russell terrier, Max).
A second CD, Naked on a Goat, was never truly completed, but rough cuts may be downloaded free from Last.fm and many other tracks at their page at Garageband.com
Tim still writes and records in his home studio in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Cate still writes and sings with various groups in Livingston County, Michigan, and spends an inordinate amount of time with folks she's grown to love in an online community, WWR. Perhaps you've heard of it?
