McLeod (that's pronounced "Muh-cloud", music fans...) is Alaska's longest continuously performing Bluegrass band - founded by Chuck Dunnagan (banjo) and Dave Mannehimer (fiddle) in 1980. A love of traditional and progressive Bluegrass and Acoustic music drive's our desire to keep on pickin'. We do a great mix of old and new tunes, guaranteed to liven up any party, coffeehouse, festival, special event, or barbecue!
A five-piece bluegrass-style ensemble with a lot of fan support. On stage the band members show a certain casual grace, joking with the audience and each other until everyone felt at home.
The music is lively and complex, and even if you don't like bluegrass, it's hard not to tap your feet to the upbeat rhythms. The group played old and new songs, exploring every nuance of the genre and even breaking out a dobro for a few songs. read more.
