When the brothers first arrived in Los Angeles from Australia in the mid nineties and the 'Big-Fat-Life-Changing-Record-Deal' was obviously lost in the mail, they started performing on the street, at places like Venice Beach and Universal City Walk, where you need to get attention from your audiences quickly and then keep them with you. They hadn't played bagpipes since high school, but started using them because they only have one volume - TEN - which solved the 'getting attention' issue. Then they started integrating them into their songs because there's just no doubting the power and the passion bagpipes invoke in people. Hamish also discovered that he could incorporate his fascination with the Aboriginal culture of Australia and made himself a didgeridoo. He soon discovered that it was a great bottom-end sound against the high-end of the pipes.

Angus and Hamish put their hearts and souls, blood, sweat and tears into honing their sound, their show and building their business. Now they're actually getting to enjoy the fruits of all that. they enjoy the feeling that there are no other hands in the pie. They call their music 100% organic - everything in the mix is pure, from the source, no pests.
