Ben Dowling - keyboardist, composer, producer, musical director, synthesist; President of Visionsound Innovative Arts. Born in Fayettville, Arkansas, February 14, 1956.
Dowling is a blend of art and science, steeped in a musical heritage of traditional jazz, impressionist classical music and modern funk; Has produced artists from across the spectrum including Rod Stewart singer, Ester Nicholson; to Broadway sensation, Charles Holt.
Often considered a music technology wizard, he has developed synthesizers for Korg, originated new-media, surround-sound integrations for DVD, and programmed for the likes of Madonna and Michael Jackson.
A stunning pianist and keyboard player, Dowling is comfortable playing straight ahead jazz, experimental classical or grooving funk, and playing it all from the heart, in the pocket, and with total authenticity.
He has recently been focussed on production clients, contemporary ambient solo piano recordings and new-media integrations with visual and other artists.
Dowling tours extensively in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas with top jazz players and with one of the world's greatest funk bands, the Al McKay Allstars (former members of Earth, Wind & Fire). read more.
